Luke + Bob

ā€œMany people will walk in and outĀ of yourĀ life but only true friends will leaveĀ footprintsĀ inĀ your heart.ā€ ā€”Eleanor Roosevelt

I knew this wedding was going to be special from the very start. After our initial consultation, Luke, a clinical psychologist, sent me an email, explaining that they are letting all their vendors know that this is a same-sex wedding (since that could be a consideration for some). Full disclosure, I’d wrestled with this, while on my Christian walk. Through MUCH prayer and wise counsel, I’ve came to this realization — God loves you, no matter where you are in your relationship with Him or who you are or who you love. He has also blessed me with all the talent for strategizing stress-free timelines and an eye for creativity and detail.

So, of COURSE I would help Luke + Bob create their #BestDayEveršŸ„‚!

Their wedding day was picture-perfect: clear skies, though slightly overcast (which is a photographer’s absolute DREAM, btw). My day started with picking up Jersey Mike’s for their bridal party, and delivering it (and a bunch of gatorade — gotta stay hydrated!) to their getting ready room at The Handlery Hotel in beautiful Mission Valley. Then, it was off to Riverwalk Golf Course for their expertly designed, cheery yellow ceremony and reception.

“It’s Pride Month, but I didn’t want it to be SO over-the-top” Luke explained. The only exception to that rule, was the PRIDE-ful dessert table from Amame Desserts — it makes my heart happy, to this day!

Between the touching speeches throughout the wedding and the raucous laughter on the dancefloor — it was a wedding of a lifetime. Besides, when you’re matching TOMs with your grooms… it’s a glorious thing!
