About Me

Stephanie Wooding, Owner / Lead Planner

profile-picI’m a practical, organized, and flexible, “jeans and t-shirt” type chick. Well, the San Diego part of me is anyway. The LA in me is a driven, problem-solving, A-type, “take no guff” lady boss, that gets the job done – on time, and within a realistic budget.

Though the plan was to get my college degree at UCSD (Theatre – Stage Management / Lighting Design) and head back to LA to pursue a career in the film industry as a 1st Assistant Director, I fell in love with everything San Diego, especially it’s world class hospitality and tourism industry and stayed.

My event production expertise began by making mud-pies decorated with Ji-chan’s (“grandfather” in Japanese) flowers from his garden for my Ba-chan (“grandmother”), when I was 4. While food is still a passion – creating stress-free and simply amazing events is what I do best.

I’ve added SO MUCH to my mud-pie talents over the years… I’ve worked in the film industry as a 1st and 2nd AD; the hotel industry as an Assistant Director of Audio Visual Services and as a Catering Sales Manager; the live event and theatre industry as a lighting tech / stagehand / stage manager; and special event industry as a wedding and event planner.

Over the last 15 years, I’ve been blessed to have worked at nearly every major hotel, venue, and theme park in San Diego (Hilton Mission Bay, Westin San Diego, Hyatt Mission Bay, The Bradford Ranch, Seaworld, San Diego Zoo, just to name a few) in one capacity or another – I’m kinda a behind the scenes ninja.

Add to that – I have 5 boys, an A-W-E-S-O-M-E hubby, and a super-ADD border collie / whippet dog. If I have a rare free moment, I can be found devouring filet mignon tacos at Puesto, sneaking in a Pancakes and Bacon cookie from The Cravory, or refreshing my email box, eagerly awaiting the weekly arrival of the Eat24.com coupon (no, they don’t endorse me, I just LOVE them). Snowboarding, watching HGTV or FoodNetwork, and binge watching Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead are also on my top 10 of “what Steph does for fun” list.
